Robert Pink is not a real person. It’s an idea, a concept that brings contemporary art and good chocolate together in a walking tour of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Between an art gallery and a chocolate shop you can experience the Parisian atmosphere up close of one of the most typical neighborhoods of the French capital which originated in the Middle Ages around the Abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Prés; a huge monastic complex that took on great importance in the history of the city and France. The abbey was largely destroyed at the beginning of the 19th century leaving space for the development of the district. Only the church from the original abbey remains which now serves as the parish of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. This monument, built between the eleventh and twelfth centuries, is one of the oldest churches in Paris still intact. And for fans, this same neighborhood is the home of actress and diva Catherine Deneuve. Despite a decline in the number of important figures in the intellectual and artistic life of Paris, institutions like the Café des Deux Magots, Café de Flore and Brasserie Lipp still attract journalists, actors and politicians.
